In fact, the only item in her outfit that wasn't purposefully oversized were her square-toed Acne loafers, which still feature an unconventional shape.
Overall, this New York City look fits right in with Katie Holmes' fall 2024 aesthetic, which has been built upon extra-large outerwear, baggy denim, and ludicrously capacious bags that could your entire life in their pouch.
As for her latest foray into the controversial barrel-leg trend, I'd say the style has fully reached mainstream appeal—at least, among those of us actively avoiding the inevitable return of skinny jeans. But let Katie Holmes serve as a warning: Once you start embracing the curved silhouette, your pants will just keep getting bigger.
