What to Watch the Week of September 29: Love Is Blind Season 7, Plus the Return of SVU

[ad_1]

The new season of Love Is Blind premieres this week with the first six episodes, and Glamour senior editor Stephanie McNeal says they're “cringe, juicy, and salacious.” We'll be covering all the couples, developments, and news, so if you can't get enough of the hit Netflix dating series, you know where to find us.

This Tuesday marks the first day of October, which kicks off Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween. From classic Halloween movies—see: Hocus Pocus—to more recent fan favorites like The Haunted Mansion, you'll find everything to kick off spooky season in one place.

Also on Tuesday, Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for Vice President, will face Republican nominee JD Vance in the first and only VP debate. CBS will broadcast the 90-minute special, but it will be available on other networks and streamers too. More info on that below.

The next day there's a new episode of The Golden Bachelorette. Before you watch, make sure to read our interview with Joan about the show's current front-runner. At first, I wasn't as excited about the new season as I had hoped to be because of recent developments within the franchise. Two episodes in, however, I can say The Golden Bachelorette is definitely worth tuning in for. It's so hopeful and heartwarming, and the guys are hysterical. (Although, Jack, we'll miss you!)

Meanwhile, if you liked the first episode of Dr. Odyssey on ABC/Hulu, I hear that episode two is even better. Also on Thursday is the premiere of Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. After shortened seasons last year due to the strike, it's nice to have a full episode count to look forward to.

If you're a foodie like me, you'll also want to check out the next edition of Chef's Table on Netflix, which will focus on a cozy season staple: noodles. My favorite place for pasta in Los Angeles (actually, anywhere, to be honest) is featured so see below for who owns the way to my heart—and stomach.

With that, I'll see you back here next week for the fourth season premiere of Abbott Elementary and the star-packed film about SNL's chaotic first episode, aptly called Saturday Night.

Sunday, September 29

The Simpsons (Fox): Animation Domination is back! The Simpsons returns for a new season (36, if you're keeping track) as Bart celebrates the most shocking birthday party of his entire life. Apparently it might change everyone in Springfield forever. Also this season, Grampa reveals his secret past as a 1980s-era private detective as the Simpsons encounter death on vacation at a high-end resort in “Yellow Lotus.” Meanwhile, Lisa has a blazing misadventure in the dark world of Capital City’s downtown art scene. 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT

Universal Basic Guys (Fox): According the press release, this season Mark and Hank will try to reconnect with their primal roots by purchasing an automatic heat-seeking crossbow to hunt deer. Mark buys a championship football ring on eBay and leverages it to get special treatment from his hometown team. He also wants to get Tammy a fancy exotic animal for their anniversary but can only afford a former laboratory chimpanzee, who promptly rips off his face. Alrighty then. 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, 7:30 p.m. CT
