Travis Kelce may not have accompanied Taylor Swift to the VMAs 2024, but he was definitely there in spirit. In her acceptance speech for Video of the Year, Swift took a moment to shout out her boyfriend, which can only mean true love.
Swift took home the fan-voted Video of the Year award for her "Fortnite" music video featuring Post Malone. She began her acceptance speech by thanking her collaborators, before going on to add a very special thank you to a very special someone. Explaining that although the video itself seems sad, it was actually a very fun video to make, and Kelce is a big part of why that was.

“Something that I'll always remember is that when I would finish a take, and I'd say cut, and we'd be done with that take, I would always just hear someone cheering and like, ‘Woo!’ from across the studio where we were shooting it,” Swift said. “And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis.” At this point, the crowd's applause almost drowned her out.
She continued, “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I'll always remember that.”
Swift finished her speech by thanking her fans for, “making my life what it is," and, “for making the Eras Tour what it has become, for making The Tortured Poets Department what it has become.”
The NFL player couldn't accompany Taylor Swift to the VMAs 2024 because he was due in Kansas City for practice, but he assured everyone on his New Heights podcast that he was rooting for his girlfriend from afar. “She’s nominated [for] about 10 of those things tonight,” he said on the September 11 episode. “Hopefully, she can walk away with some Moonmen!”
