Margot Robbie’s Bodycon Is the Last Word on Maternity Fashion

[ad_1]

Conspiracists would read Margot Robbie’s latest outfit as a not-so-subtle gender reveal. That is because the actor—who is currently in the latter stages of her third trimester—wore a baby-blue bodycon for a night out at the The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood. Normal people would read this outfit for what it is: a comfortable solution to being, probably, uncomfortable.

It was a blue bodycon that first launched Robbie into the public eye. (The actress wore a cerulean Hervé Léger bandage dress for an opening scene in The Wolf of Wall Street.) “Sexuality was this character’s currency in the world,” she said in a 2023 Life in Looks video. “Especially the effect she could have on Jordan [the corrupt broker played by Leonardo DiCaprio] was the way she would control and manipulate situations, so what she wore—or didn’t wear—was very much a part of that.”

Margot Robbie’s most recent look was not quite as provocative—the heels were a sensible height and the body was “shrobed” in a longline loden—but she is nonetheless refusing to cover up in a tent dress. Like Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski and just about every other famous person in recent years, the actor has continued to dress with confidence as her body has changed in recent months. It’s an embodiment of power when wombs—not to mention waistlines—continue to be monitored, policed, and legislated against.
