It's basically become tradition for Lily Collins to show off a new look at the premiere of each new season of Emily in Paris. For season four, part one, it was a fresh bob. And with the arrival of the second part of the fourth installment of the season, the actor has done it again.
But while everyone was focusing on her chic ‘20s hair, I couldn’t stop looking at something else: a manicure that really is the epitome of demure. So much so that it's versatile enough to go perfectly with a sexy black Dior ensemble and a glimmering golden Schiaparelli dress at the Emily in Paris premieres in Paris and Rome.

So, what's the formula for a demure manicure like Lily Collins has?
- Length: The nails aren't totally short but hit just past finger length.
- Shape: Slightly rounded.
- Color: A nude that's about the same shade as your natural nail.
- Finish: Very shiny, very polished, very demure.
- Style: The vibe is very natural. The goal is an elegant, discreet manicure that is 100% adaptable to any occasion. The color works in the daytime and the shine isn't too shiny.

If you're after a demure Lily Collins manicure, the number one tip is to avoid very bold or highly-pigmented tones. Nudes and simple pinks are your allies, as long as they have that natural and subtly shiny finish.
As for shape, don't go too far past the finger and keep it slightly rounded. When painting the nail, don't apply several coats. One should be sufficient in order to leave the nail almost transparent. If the polish doesn't have enough shine, add a top coat with a little sheen to it. That will also prolong your manicure—a good thing considering it's so chameleon-like, you'll want to wear it all week long.
