We're only three episodes in, and fans have already developed a pretty compelling theory about Aubrey Plaza's character in Agatha All Along. And a reported leak—from Funko, of all places—seems to confirm that they were right all along.
After the Disney+ show's premiere, the MCU message boards have become convinced that Plaza's character, Rio Vidal, will at some point be revealed as Death, also known as Lady Death and a major villain in the Marvel comics. A cosmic entity and the personification of literal Death, she's had storylines with Thor and Deadpool in the comics before but has never appeared in the MCU aside from a few easter eggs in Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Rio Vidal was introduced in the first episode as a powerful witch with a “black heart” that beats for Agatha (Kathryn Hahn). But while the specific character of Vidal isn't found in the comics, Lady Death is—and there's plenty of evidence to back up the theory that LD and RV are one and the same.

For one thing, as one Reddit user pointed out, the promotional materials for the series show a “Death” tarot card, and the illustration appears to be holding the same knife that Plaza's character carries in the show. Another Redditor suggested, “Could Rio Vidal be Mistress Death? Since her coming back to Agatha and saying, ‘you don’t have the Darkhold to protect you’ I wonder if the Darkhold was also a way for Agatha to remain protected from cheating Death after surviving the original coven attack.” One person speculated that the key might be in the character's name. “Her name is Rio Vidal. River like the river Styx. Vida like life in Spanish. Maybe.”
Additionally, a teaser trailer for the show depicts the word “death” being spelled out by a Ouija board, potentially hinting at a major protagonist. And then, of course, there's the whole “black heart” thing.
