After 10 years of marriage (which is, like, 500 in Hollywood years) Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are definitely allowed to give the rest of us relationship advice. And Brody's is devastatingly simple: pick the right person. Damn, why didn't I think of that?
No but seriously, the man just loves his wife. During a conversation on Today, Hoda Kotb asked the The O.C. alum what keeps the magic alive, to which Brody replied, “Oh, pick someone good. Be lucky and be in love with someone who’s great and then just kind of listen to them," per People.
“If you’re with someone great, you’re on third base,” Brody added. “Not that it doesn’t take sacrifice and humility and you have to grow together and you have to be willing to grow, because you’re not going to be able to stay 100 percent right where you are. But if you’re with someone wonderful, I think you’re on third base.”
This is far from the first time that Adam Brody has praised his wife's innate goodness. In a 2021 interview, Brody recalled that despite a certain aloofness when they first met, as he got to know her he realized "she's literally like Joan of Arc.
“She is the strongest, best person I know,” he says. "She is my moral compass and North Star, and I just can't say enough good things about her character. It's crazy.”
“She's never been rude to, like, a single person in her life, except—and I give her credit for this—paparazzi, where I'm too self-conscious,” he said. “I wouldn't say ‘rude’ but, like, people will try to get her to sign some sexy old photo or something that aren't fans but they pretend to be fans… She has no problem being like, ‘You can hate me. I don't care.’”
