Vice President Kamala Harris was looking very demure, very mindful at night one of the Democratic National Convention, and we have to give credit to her on-trend styling choice. Madam VP chose to wear one of the moment's most popular designers among the fashion girlies.
On August 19, Harris surprised the convention, held in Chicago, Illinois, by appearing on stage in a tan Chloé suit (pause for Barack Obama tan suit jokes), designed by the brand's new creative director, Chemena Kamali. According to a press release, Harris's bespoke brown suit and white crepe de chine blouse was designed by Kamali herself, and provides further proof that the Democratic candidate for president is very much tapped into the culture.
The suit, which Harris styled with minimal jewelry and matching pointed-toe pumps, includes elements of Kamali's signature boho style. The loose cut of the flared trousers, for example, are reminiscent of the 1970s, while the drapey lavalliere blouse adds a feminine touch.
