Megan Thee Stallion is no stranger to Y2K-inspired hair color combos—or setting beauty trends, for that matter—but her most recent hair look just might be her coolest yet.
The 2021 Glamour Woman of the Year debuted a very TikTok-appropriate two-toned hairstyle via a six photo carousel on Instagram. In the set of photos, Megan's look is giving e-girl Mermaid.
Posted from Manchester, England, where the rapper brought her Hot Girl Summer tour on July 15, Megan shared a set of mirror selfies in which she showed off soft lavender roots and pastel pink money pieces that transition back to purple towards the ends of her hair.
Sleek and straight, the rapper's hair was parted in the middle and styled into a low bun updo, leaving a few pastel pink pieces out to frame her face.
The look was held together with a pink claw clip accessory that so happened to perfectly match her cotton candy shade. Should we call this the “e-girl updo?”
Megan's nails were also two-toned, and therefore, similarly iconic and nostalgic (though square nails are back, didn't you hear?)
Filed into a long, square coffin shape, Megan wore a gradient ombré style, transitioning from a deep turquoise color into a brighter aqua towards the tips. Could that be a hint as to what her next hair color combo might be? Only time will tell.
Speaking of her manicure, her ring fingers and thumbs also featured intricate, leaf-like nail art in matching teal. Her mind!
All in all, this pastel ensemble is very much giving Y2K and TikTok-viral e-girl aesthetic. Since the playful colors are juxtaposed with a sleek and polished finish, I'm guessing this look is very Gen Z-approved. But I'm a millennial—what do I know?
