WOODBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — There’s an uplifting new way to help seniors fight loneliness during coronavirus lockdowns.
More than 100 “Balloon Buddies” helped lift spirits on Long Island on Wednesday.
The international Adopt-A-Grandparent campaign teamed up with the Woodbury Jewish Center to deliver the balloons at the Excel Woodbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
The center has been on lockdown for more than a year.
