JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A Jersey City street is getting a major makeover.
Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza will get a $6.7 million overhaul.
The upgrades include elevating the street level to match the sidewalk for greater stroller and wheelchair accessibility.
Rain garden tree planters will be installed along with café lighting for improved visibility.
A stage area will also be added for community events.
Construction begins in April.
